A new study has claimed that nicotine is too much useful for protecting the human brain from developing of Parkinson’s disease. In the mean time it also does protect dopamine neurons in the brain.
This new discovery may somehow lead the existing treatment system towards a new door of success for the disease.
By keeping a bind with the success Patrick P. Michel, from France and the co- author of this study have stated “This new kind of treatment must provide those neuro-protective treatment patients a new way of diagnosed their disease, while those have failed to be diagnosed in a traditional way.”
Before this discovery the scientists have taken the help of genetically engineered mice apart from a specific nicotine receptor as well as mice along with a functional receptor.
Few days after the researchers have found that by using it the tissue from the mouse embryos dopamine neurons are going towards loss process, which aside from that is a hallmark of this disease.
From that experience the scientists have concluded that in short nicotine is too much potential for rescuing dopamine neurons in the body of the normal mice, but it has no longer effect for mice without the nicotine receptor.
Aside from that this finding are suggesting that it will be much more beneficial for the new therapies for Parkenson’s disease which target the nicotine receptor, in specific the alpha 7 nicotine receptor.
